Bonifacio Global City (BGC) has become the premier central business district of Taguig City with its substantial number of local and international corporations, business process outsourcing companies, financial institutions, hotels, malls, entertainment centers, schools, and other business establishments.

BGC has also achieved massive growth in terms of real estate development with the most successful townships in Metro Manila, including McKinley Hill, Uptown Bonifacio, McKinley West, Veritown Fort, and Forbes Town Center.

However, even if BGC is a relatively small place, getting around and exploring this fast-paced area can be a challenge and a bit overwhelming when you don’t have your own ride. Although BGC is a walkable neighborhood and offices, condos, shopping centers, restaurants, schools, and other establishments are close to each other, many still prefer to ride a vehicle to their destinations instead of walking. Here are 5 alternative ways to commute around BGC:

Taxi and Motorcycle Taxi

The easiest and still pretty cheap way to get around and go to and from BGC is by taxi or motorcycle taxi. You can hail a regular taxi almost anywhere, but regular taxi drivers are notorious for refusing to take passengers for whatever reason.

A popular and more convenient alternative is to use a taxi-hailing app like Grab and Ankas to easily search for and book a ride. Just take note that it may be very hard to book a Grab taxi at certain times of the day, especially during traffic hours.

The BGC Bus

The BGC Bus Terminal is the starting point of most bus routes to different parts of BGC. It is located on the corner of EDSA and McKinley Road in Makati City on the ground floor outside the McKinley Exchange Corporate Center across Shell station and the staircase of MRT Ayala Station northbound exit.

BGC Bus currently operates regular and express routes to and from different areas in BGC as well as routes that serve passengers at night and another that travels only on weekends.

Note that tickets are not sold onboard a BGC Bus. You have to either have a tap card (sold in some terminals) or buy tickets at a cashier counter at terminals at Ayala or Market! Market!

Jeepney

Market! Market!, one of BGC’s many malls, has a jeepney and FX terminal. There are 3 jeepney terminals from outside BGC that have jeep routes that will take you to Market! Market!

  • Jollibee near Guadalupe MRT Station
  • near Concepcion street at the East Service Road side of Sucat
  • beneath the Ayala MRT Station

Taking a jeep is a cheap way of getting around BGC as long as you don’t mind a bit of walking.

FX

There are 2 FX terminals in BGC—Market! Market! and Mckinley Hill. The Mckinley Hill FX terminal is situated at the open parking space beside McKinley Hill Stadium (formerly Emperador Stadium). An FX passenger van goes to and from BGC and other parts of Metro Manila such as Alabang, Marikina, Ayala, Magallanes, and Pasig.

Car and Driver Service

In case none of the above works for you or you need a more convenient and reliable way to get around BGC or to go to any destination, then a car rental service with driver is the best option for you. Car rental is a more expensive transport alternative, but if you need a sure, safe, and hassle-free way to get around Metro Manila—quickly get from one meeting to another, catch an important event, get to the airport on time—it’s well worth every penny to have a pre-booked dedicated car and driver to drive you anywhere you need to be.
